German tourist sexually assaulted on Tangalle beach; Fisherman arrested

Tangalle Police arrested a 57-year-old fisherman from Pallikudawa for allegedly luring a German tourist to a secluded spot under the pretext of showing her crabs and sexually abusing her. The tourist told police she had been walking along the beach on Sunday evening (14) when the suspect persuaded her to follow him and then assaulted her.   

The Women and Children’s Bureau of the Tangalle Police is conducting further investigations.
