Driver dies, bus veered off road

The driver of the Matale bound bus from Hettipola on Monday evening developed a heart failure and died while at the wheel and the bus veered off the road.   

Police said the driver was rushed to Nalanda government hospital only to be pronounced already dead. The deceased Wijekoon Mudiyanselage Deepthika Chandika Wijekoon (49) was a resident of Palapathwala in Matale.   

None of the passengers were injured in the accident.   

Mahawela police are conducting further investigations.
