83rd birth anniversary of the late Gamini Dissanayake commemorated

The 83rd birth anniversary of late Minister of Land, Land Development and Mahaweli Development Gamini Dissanayake was commemorated yesterday in front of the Gamini Dissanayake statue on the banks of the Mahaweli reservoir in Kotmale.  

His son, former Governor of Sabaragamuwa Province Naveen Dissanayake was the chief guest.  

Minister Gamini Dissanayake was killed in a suicide bomb attack by the LTTE on October 24, 1994 during his Presidential Election campaign.  

Naveen Dissanayake’s wife, and the residents of the area were present at the commemoration ceremony.
