Remembering our beloved friend Chris

It is with a heavy heart fond memories and love that we put pen in paper in tribute to our dear friend Chris Suwaris who bade farewell to us on June 23 at Royal Nursing Home, Mt. Lavinia. 

I first met him in May 2025 at Royal Nursing Home along with his wife and son. They were living in London before Chris came to his birth place, Sri Lanka. Chris was a product of Royal College before he went to London. He had been a Mathematics teacher for a long time. His son came to Sri Lanka twice to see him when he was not well.

He was a sincere person though he was a little moody at times may be due to his health condition. He use to go out in the evening with his friends to his college club close to Royal Nursing Home.

Unfortunately,  he could not stay long in one place and changed places on two or three occasions.

He was a good singer. My association with him was for about a year. Unfortunately,  he had problems with his health and suffered a lot during the latter part of his life. Finally,  he came back to Royal Nursing Home this month and passed away peacefully on 23rd June. 

May his soul Rest in Peace.
