B-Positive Band officially released



The song Sihina Mawathe, performed by the talented LasithaPerera of the B-Positive Band, was officially released on the evening of January 24, 2025, at 7 p.m. at Sky Lounge in Kandy. 

The music for this track was composed by OmithPerera-Lasitha's son and the owner of Electro Laugh Studio. The launch event was attended by prominent singers and media professionals from across the island. 

The lyrics for SihinaMawathe were penned by Chandrananda Kumara Keerthisinghe, marking the first creation from Chandra Productions.

During the release event, Chandra Productions simultaneously uploaded the song to DistroKid and Vivo International for global promotion to reach fans worldwide.

LasithaPerera is an alumnus of Kingswood College in Kandy and is the founder of LasithaPerera Music Academy - LPMA International (PVT) LTD, as well as the Be Positive Band. 

He is proficient in various musical instruments, including piano, organ, and guitar, and offers vocal training tailored to his students' needs. LPMA, Be Positive Band & Electro Laugh Studio 

Established in 1996, LPMA has grown from a small academy to a renowned institution with over 25,000 students worldwide. It attracts students from diverse backgrounds, including professionals such as doctors, engineers, and university students. LPMA provides a safe and encouraging environment for all genders and motivates students through unplugged concerts and audio-video productions that help nurture emerging artists.

LPMA collaborated with its students to create Sri Lanka's "World Water Day" song, which received government recognition, and participants were awarded certificates. The academy also produced another nature-themed tune and has created both lyrics and music for most of its productions. Notably, LPMA successfully aired Sri Lanka's first "Vampire music video."

Many students at LPMA are involved in their own music projects across various languages, including Tamil, Hindi, and English. The recent production "SihinaMawathe," written by LPMA student Chandrananda Kumara Keerthisinghe, showcases his talent as a new songwriter and producer in the international music industry.

The Be Positive Band was founded in 1999 and gained popularity with their hit Bisawain 2000, which aired on all major television stations. They also created Sri Lanka's first 3D animated song—a successful anti-smoking campaign that earned a presidential award. Other notable songs include AseemithaiAadre,SamanMalui Rosa Malui, and Sora Bora WewaLanga.

Chandra Productions was founded by Chandrananda Kumara Keerthisinghe, a former student of Wayamba Royal College in Kurunegala. He completed his higher education at Saegis Campus in Nugegoda, earning a BSc (Hons) in Business Management and an MBA from Canterbury Christ Church University in the UK. He also wrote the lyrics for SihinaMawathe.

Chandra Productions plans to release more tracks featuring various artists in the future and has several additional songs ready for release.

Chandra Productions is excited to launch its first song with LasithaPerera, with more collaborations featuring both Lasitha and OmithPerera on the horizon.
