190th Birth Anniversary Charles Henry de Soysa

The 190th birth anniversary of renowned philanthropist Charles Henry de Soysa was recently commemorated with a solemn ceremony attended by distinguished guests, including British High Commissioner, Andrew Patrick and former Chief Justice of Fiji, Anthony Gates as Chief Guests. Wreaths were laid at the statue alongside the Principals of Prince and Princess of Wales Colleges, while two young descendants performed the garlanding. A gathering followed at the Baptist Church Hall, where attendees marked the occasion with speeches by school representatives and past pupils. The event also coincided with the 150th anniversary of the two institutions, adding further significance to the commemoration.
