128th Philippine Independence Day 65 Years of Philippines-Sri Lanka Ties



The Philippine Embassy in Bangladesh, together with the Philippine Honorary Consulate General in Colombo, hosted a diplomatic reception at the Cinnamon Grand Hotel to commemorate the 128th Anniversary of the Proclamation of Philippine Independence, held in conjunction with the 65th Anniversary of Philippines-Sri Lanka diplomatic relations.

Hosted by non-resident Ambassador of the Philippines to Sri Lanka, Nina P. Cainglet, the evening gathered Sri Lankan officials, members of the diplomatic corps, business community, partners, and the Filipino Community in a celebration of freedom, friendship, and cultural pride. The program featured messages from Ambassador Cainglet, Chief Guest, Minister of Rural Development, Social Security and Community Empowerment, Dr. Upali Pannilage and Honorary Consul General Hugh Sriyal Dissanayake.

The reception showcased Philippine cultural heritage items, including jewelry, national costumes, Maguindanao inaul textiles, music, dance, and a specially hand woven inaul saree by master weaver Twinky Dalgan.
