The Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka (PUCSL) today approved request of the Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) to impose 2 hours and 20 minutes until Sunday (25).
PUCSL Chairman Janaka Ratnayake said the extended power cut will come to effect from tomorrow.
He said the approval was granted considering the dysfunctionality of Old Laxapana Stage 1 and lack of fuel availability at Westcoast and due to sudden increase in demand.
Accordingly, the areas that come under groups A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H, I, J, K, L, P, Q, R, S, T, U, V and W will experience the blackout for one hour during daytime and one hour and 20 minutes during night. (Chaturanga Samarawickrama)

How can a country progress when at the top we have officials who implement policies which are not consistent this shows lack of management skills ?

This PUCSL is such a useless entity. Only yesterday they said there is no requirement to lengthen the power cut. Has their stance changed overnight?? What kind of fools are running these organisations. At present the Chairman is only a power cut spokesman. Such a waste
