The Railways Department has announced that two previously cancelled train services on the Kelani Valley (KV) line will resume operations from today (3).
The services, operating between Colombo Fort and Avissawella, and from Avissawella back to Colombo Fort, were temporarily suspended due to a shortage of power sets.
The cancellations had caused inconvenience to daily commuters along the KV route. However, railway authorities said steps have now been taken to restore the services as per the usual timetable, effective today.
The department added that normal operations will continue subject to availability of rolling stock and operational requirements.
