Heavy rains exceeding 100 mm are expected at some places in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, Uva, North-Western and Northern Provinces and in the Galle, Trincomalee and Batticaloa districts due to the influence of the low-pressure area located to the northeast of Sri Lanka, the Meteorology Department said.
