Advisory issued for heavy rain

Colombo, May 11 (Daily Mirror) - Heavy rains exceeding 100 mm are expected at some places in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, Uva, North-Western and Northern Provinces and in the Galle, Trincomalee and Batticaloa districts due to the influence of the low-pressure area located to the northeast of Sri Lanka, the Meteorology Department said.

The Department advises people to take adequate precautions to minimise damages caused by heavy rain, strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
