What do you expect from a threatened species that no longer has access to the lands that provided it with food and shelter? Slash and burn/chena cultivation plus increasing encroachment by humans (the most destructive species on Earth) has led to desperation. Desperate creatures are dangerous - they know that they are targets to be eliminated, not to be cared for and respected.

Its not wild elephants attacking!! Its Humans that have encroached in to their land and their reaction to the irritation of theirs to the humans action! This calls for a clear marking of forests by means of Elephant ditches with one side vertical (Human settlement area) and the other side on a slope where the elephants can move to the forests! I could have uploaded an image but Unfortunately this page does not allow up loading of images!
