Sri Lanka Cyber Games and Comic Con reach Kandy

The celebration of video games and comic book culture comes together on November 5 and 6 at the Kandy City Centre this year with the Sri Lanka Cyber Games Central Qualifier and Kandy Comic Con – a truly unique multi-genre entertainment festival. 

The best cyber-athletes will be battling it out for the chance to represent the region at the SLCG ’16 Grand Finals in Colombo. The eSports Championship will feature Call of Duty 4, DOTA 2, Counter-Strike: GO, League of Legends, Mortal Kombat XL, Project Cars, FIFA 16, Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare and Clash Royale. Kandy Comic Con will consist of a number of panel discussions by local film and art directors. The director and cast members of the upcoming Sri Lankan movie ‘Aloka Udapadi’ will be featured in the first panel of the event, followed by the artists behind ‘The Tale of Chaste’ animated series, Pruve.  Another main attraction at the event will be Cosplay – fans dressing up as and role playing their favourite characters from movies, video games, TV shows and comic books. The visitors to the event will be able to take part in various fun activities such as StarBattles – a themed laser-tag competition and buy comic merchandise from the vendors showcasing their goods at the event.

Entrance to the event is free. Sri Lanka Cyber Games is organised by Gamer.LK and Kandy Comic Con is organised by the Gamer.LK/Pruve partnership. The telecommunications partner for the event is Dialog Gaming, which has partnered with Gamer.LK to bring fast, low latency connections for gamers in Sri Lanka.
