Roshan Mahanama clarifies Dambulla Sixers role amid conflict of interest concerns

Colombo, July 18 (Daily Mirror) - Former Sri Lanka cricketer Roshan Mahanama has clarified concerns raised over a possible conflict of interest regarding his role as team mentor of the Dambulla Sixers in the 2026 Lanka Premier League (LPL) and his position as a member of the Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) Transformation Committee.

Speaking at a media briefing, Mahanama said he was not involved with the Dambulla Sixers franchise in his capacity as a member of the Cricket Transformation Committee.

“There are concerns as to whether I can hold this role while being a member of the Cricket Transformation Committee.

Firstly, my appointment to the committee is on a temporary basis. I was not appointed through a vote or an official appointment by a federation,” he said.

Mahanama further explained that his involvement with the Dambulla Sixers and his responsibilities on the Transformation Committee were separate, while rejecting any suggestion of a conflict of interest.
