Over 700 arrested in islandwide ‘Ratama Ekata’ operation

Colombo, July 18 (Daily Mirror) - A total of 706 individuals were arrested yesterday (July 17) during the islandwide “Ratama Ekata” national operation.

According to Police, the arrests were made during 708 raids conducted across the country.

Among those arrested, an investigation into suspected illegally acquired assets has been launched against one suspect, while 11 others are being detained under detention orders for further investigations.

Police also said that steps have been taken to refer four suspects for rehabilitation.
