With reference to the article published on Daily Mirror online on February 15 and 16 and Daily Mirror yesterday’s print edition, titled ‘New Covid-19 variant enters Colombo City,’ Chief Executive Officer of the Mireka Homes (Pvt) Ltd Pravir Samarasinghe has sent the following statement.
“With Reference to the two consecutive articles published on Daily Mirror online on February 15 and 16 titled ‘New Covid-19 variant enters Colombo City,’ and Daily Mirror article on February 16, citing that a “Resident of Havelock City was tested positive for the new variant of Covid-19 and the management of Havelock City has not informed the residents of such information.”
The Management at Havelock City confirms that no Residents of Havelock City Apartment Complex have been tested positive with the new variant of Covid-19.
The MOH Office and PHI too have confirmed that they are not aware of any such detection.
Further, a senior official of the National Operations Centre for Prevention of Covid-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO) also confirmed that no Resident of Havelock City Apartment Complex has been tested positive with the new variant of Covid-19.
