What’s wrong with national security? asks Sajith

What has happened to the national security if the Weligama Pradeshiya Sabha Chairman is shot at while conducting his public day in the council premises, questioned Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa in parliament yesterday.

He said Chairman Lasantha Wickramasekera is a people’s representative. “If he cannot conduct his public day in the council, what is wrong with the national security? Two JVP council members were abducted earlier. Then, a lawyer was shot at,” he said.  

Chief Government Whip Nalinda Jayatissa who responded said the government is fully committed to preventing crimes.
