Over 4,000 breakdowns reported islandwide

Meanwhile, Ananda Palitha said that over 4,000 electricity breakdowns had been reported across the country as of yesterday due to adverse weather conditions. He warned that restoration work may be delayed, as their work-to-rule campaign has now entered its 33rd day.  “If the government responds appropriately, breakdowns can be restored immediately. Earlier, we managed to repair up to 60,000 breakdowns within 48 hours, but under the current campaign, restorations will take longer than expected,” Palitha said. He further cautioned that with the increasing number of breakdowns, the country could soon face a blackout.
