Life inside a Myanmar cyber slave camp: A Sri Lankan recalls her experience

Sri Lankans who were lured into cyber scamming operations in Myanmar were rescued by government authorities in April, September and December 2023. In an exclusive interview with the Daily Mirror, Aneka Borham, one of the Sri Lankans who were rescued, related her experience at a Myanmar cyber slave camp. She revealed how she initially agreed for a data entry operator job in Thailand, how the agent tricked her to believe that she would be paid a lavish sum and that she would be able to return in six months, harrowing experiences while crossing borders, her life as a scammer, punishments and torture that she had to endure and the final rescue operation.
