World Wetlands Day...

Even though the world wetlands day is celebrated we have to deeply focus on the present status of famous wet lands like Ananwilandawa , Aththidiya ,Bundala , and Muthurajawela These wetlands are harbouring number of indigenous birds species as well as small mammals and reptiles. But these significant wetlands are encroached by some factions little by little for their illegal construction and some other purposes. One leading politician who represented previous government was engaged in clearing a vast land area which was located Anawilundawa reserve. However due to the intervention of the environmental organisations that attempt was half way halted. The prime duty of the department of wildlife, forest conservation and central environmental authority to pay their concern to protect this valuable ecosystem for wellbeing of the future generations
