The Principals' Service Association staged a demonstration in front of the Ministry of Education in Battaramulla, Colombo today (Monday 12) over several demands. As the protest was on, a mother is passing the protestors alongside her two daughters, probably taking them home after school. Pix by Pradeep Pathirana

Protesting is the latest trend. With RW NOTHING works. Give us sometime to breathe and read happy news.

With the wonderful leadership of principals across the country, no wonder we are breeding a generations of thugs.

All these protests will stop if NPP clings into power because they are the ones who are funding these, the protestors or their organisers are well paid . Let us vote NPP and make Sri Lanka as Part of India.

You are not new to us! Our memories are still fresh! Tuesday, 13 February 2024 06:59 AM

We, the old generation believed these slogan shouting socialists and voted for Sirimavo/NM in 1970. We ended up with Janata committee, Worker's Council, hunger and ques for Rice, Bread, Milk and clothes! We ate Kos Eta for breakfast and were half naked. The henchmen had all in plenty. This is the era when Govt. servants became slaves of rogue politicians. Do you want to drive us back to that disgusting era?

Everyone in SL is demanding more and more salaries. How can these millions of mostly useless public servants be paid? Where is the money coming from? More salaries without any productivity improvements lead to hyper inflation and people will then ask for even more salaries. Solution is to get rid of half of these chair warming useless workers and digitising every government service.

    Fred Tuesday, 13 February 2024 07:10 AM

Maybe their grievances are genuine, should investigate and report. That way unnecessary protests will cease, when there is transparency

    Ram Tuesday, 13 February 2024 07:16 AM

Please be patient. President is trying hard to solve your issues. He has been to many overseas destinations looking for the solution and his last visit to Perth too he failed to find the solution. Give him a little more time and he will soon find the solution

What a silly comment! Why don't you say the same about AKD going to India? Looks like Adani is here to stay!
