RDA has not cleaned the Marine Drive Drains at Bambalapitiya for about ten years and the drains are full of debris causing floods in the houses near Marine Drive. The relevant officers promised to clean several times, but never clean the drains.

If the drains are cleared by the responsible authorities and strict garbage policy is in place. These measure will help to prevent clogging of drains. Preventative measure are discussed but never implemented. One man's lack of responsibility is another man's crisis.
