And can everyone swim? As long as the SL Navy uses museum-quality Chinese scrap ships, this is very important.

What about the fittnes of the young marines!? Even in high heat, they should be stable! 238 young people who fall does not speak for soldiers' performance!

Can we suspend recruitment at least for another five years. Present economic conditions , over and above number in the forces calls for suspension of recruits to the forces.

Sorry, government is corrupt. It will recruit more to suppress civilians who want to protest! There is infinite money to government, in terms of printed money today, and then income taxes on persons working in private later. Nothing but fight overcoming all these armed forces to eventually topple parliament can overcome the long term established corruption. Surely you can accept you're in lost cause Lanka by now.

Stop recruiting Armed forces but increase the DEDICATED Police force.

Can't happen. Our country is corrupt, and can recruit unlimited Armed forces as they paid through printed money.

Ok, young cadets congratulations to you all. One question puzzles me as to why are we recruiting more personnel to our armed forces when we should be reducing the numbers? Wanted to maintain 300,000 armed forces for ever?

Sampur is in the eastern Trincomalee district, which is historically Tamil and still predominantly Tamil speaking 75%. Yet look at all the cultural events and dances only Sinhalese and nothing representing the Tamil or Tamil speakers living in the region. Most probably 100% of these recruits are also Sinhalese only.

Time to stop recruiting to the defense force.

Just what we need, folks! More to the already fattened military so we can knock a big dent into our budget soon. Brilliant - not.
