Commercial Bank Chief Manager Marketing Aparna Jagoda and the Marketing team members accept the award on behalf of the bank
Commercial Bank of Ceylon has been voted as the People’s Private Bank of the Year, at SLIM Kantar People’s Awards 2024, reaffirming the bank’s status as the most popular private sector bank in the country for the second consecutive year.
This prestigious title was presented to the bank by the Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing (SLIM) on the basis of the results of an annual survey to determine the country’s preferred brands in multiple categories.
Commercial Bank pays special emphasis on developing its brand, given the fact that a strong brand is of paramount importance in the banking and finance sector. Growing the equity of the brand through strategically produced thematic communications, event sponsorships both at regional and national levels and through groundbreaking digital marketing campaigns, is given utmost priority, the bank said. The bank ensures that it stays inclusive in all communications through multilingual advertising and also touches customers of all walks of life. The bank leads the industry in terms of its corporate website and Instagram following and holds leading positions in YouTube, Facebook and X.
The theme of SLIM-Kantar People’s Awards 2024 was ‘Know the Research, Know the Award’. A scientific research methodology is used to identify the most popular brands, personalities, organisations, advertisements and artists that resonate deeply with the people of Sri Lanka and the primary feature of the awards programme is its people-led jury system, to recognise institutions that have captured the hearts of the consumers.
