A session on ‘Bilateral Trade Between Sri Lanka and Switzerland’ with the Ambassador of Switzerland will be held on September 22, from 3:00 to 4:30 p.m., at the Chamber Auditorium, Colombo 10.
Switzerland Ambassador in Sri Lanka Heinz Walker will grace the occasion as special guest speaker.
There will be an interactive session where the members will get an opportunity to find out information with regard to business with Switzerland and other services available in Switzerland. Nationals of Switzerland are invited to participate in the session.
Switzerland’s economy derives from a highly developed service sector, led by financial services and a manufacturing industry that specializes in high-technology and production. Switzerland’s economic and political stability, exceptional infrastructure, efficient capital markets and low corporate tax rates make Switzerland one of the world’s most competitive economies.
Sri Lanka imports electrical machinery and equipment and parts, nuclear reactors, boilers, machinery and mechanical appliances, natural or cultured pearls, precious or semi-precious stones, precious metals, etc., from Switzerland.
Gold, semi-precious stones were the main item of exports to Switzerland from Sri Lanka in 2014. Others are boards, panels, consoles, apparel, etc. Sri Lanka is a GSP beneficiary country of Switzerland GSP Scheme.
