Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau (SLTB) has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with University of Sri Jayewardenepura Marketing Management Unit for marketing research insights.
This is the fist time a Sri Lanka Tourism has sought the assistance of a local university for marketing tips to push forward the country’s tourism product.
The research will be carried out by the final year students of the university’s Marketing Management Unit.
“We must get smart in our communication strategy and a model needs to be recommended by the best minds of the country, particularly by a university like Sri Jayewardenepura,” Sri Lanka Tourism Chairman Rohantha Athukorala said.
Vice Chancellor Prof. Sampath Amaratunge said he was glad to see the existence of this approach by a government body.
