The event was aimed at bringing the gaming skills of Sri Lankans to the limelight in a highly competitive atmosphere. It was a highly successful event as participants and game enthusiasts from all around the country were in attendance and supporters of leading clans were seen cheering and supporting participants during their fierce battles.
GamerFest included world famous games such as DOTA 2, League of Legends, Call of Duty 4, Counter-Strike Global Offensive, Mortal Kombat X, FIFA ’15, HALO 4, Tekken Tag Tournament 2, Need for Speed: Most Wanted and TrackMania Nations Forever. Separate arenas were created inside the campus to let the participants play their games peacefully without being distracted by the cheers of one-another. The winners were rewarded with exciting cash prizes and sponsored gifts while those who made it to the top seats were given honorary certificates. Apart from this, all participants were given points according to the ranking system in Sri Lanka, which ultimately decides the best gamers in the island.
