In an effort to promote Sri Lanka to the international market, heads of the banking sector left for United Arab Emirates (UAE) yesterday on a road-show organised by the Central Bank of Sri Lanka (CBSL).
Mirror Business learns that the road-show is a two-day event where the high profile delegation will be occupied in a number of interactive sessions with investors and senior officials of the Central Bank of the United Arab Emirates.
A series of meetings is scheduled to take place in Abu Dhabi and Dubai on 16 and 17 September respectively.
The delegation is led by Central Bank CBSL Governor Arjuna Mahendran and top heads accompanying the chief include National Development Bank (NDB) CEO Rajendra Theagarajah, Commercial Bank CEO Jegan Durairatnam, Seylan Bank CEO Kapila Ariyaratne, Bank of Ceylon (BOC) General Manager D. M. Gunasekara and Sampath Bank Managing Director Aravinda Perera.
It is also learnt that towards the end of September another road-show is planned where a larger representation of the Banking and Finance sector will be accompanying the Governor.
The event of this nature is the first since the end of the general elections. (SAA)
