Sun Match Company marks Founder’s death anniversary

Sun Match Company hailing from the hill capital Kandy that introduced to the Sri Lankan household the first wax coated safety matches with the brand ‘Soorya’ marked the twenty second death anniversary of its Founder, the Late T.R.R. Rajan by donating  the 240th prostrate limb. 
Sun Match Company is the market leader in Sri Lanka in the match box category and has diversified into many products such as Soorya incense sticks, Soorya candles and Soorya Sambrani and other FMCG products.
The programme, named as Navatha Avidimu, is focused on providing prosthetic limbs to underprivileged amputees, addressing a critical need while also giving individuals a new lease on life. 
The brand ambassador for Soorya, actress .Yashodha Wimaladharama said giving a person the ability to walk is the greatest gift that one can give mankind today,
Sun Match Director and CMO Gowri Rajan, said, “The ‘Navatha Avidimu’ initiative is a testament to Sun Match Company’s enduring commitment to all communities. 
Late T.R.R. Rajan was instrumental in the revitalization of the Centre for Handicapped, Kundasale which is today a charity approved by the government of Sri Lanka. The center is dedicated to identifying patients and manufacturing the limbs which is a signature project in the hill capital - Kandy.
