Seylan Bank strengthens access to medical aid with 1990 Suwa Seriya

Seylan Bank recently facilitated the repair and refurbishment of an ambulance under the 1990 Suwa Seriya Foundation’s ‘Adopt an Ambulance’ initiative.

Operating within Puttalam, the reconditioned ambulance will strengthen healthcare in the area by elevating access to medical aid.

Seylan Bank Director and CEO Ramesh Jayasekara and Assistant General Manager Marketing and Sales Asiri Abhayaratne presented 1990 Suwa Seriya Foundation Adopt an Ambulance Project CEO Sohan de Silva with the donation. The occasion highlighted the aim of both Seylan Bank and the 1990 Suwa Seriya Foundation at further consolidating a significant healthcare initiative in the country.

Abhayaratne explained, “We recognise and applaud the 1990 Suwa Seriya Foundation’s project as a brilliant effort at augmenting the islandwide distribution of quality medical support. As the Bank with a Heart, we value efforts that both safeguard and promote communal access to medical aid and elevate public health. Consequently, we’re proud to support the continuity of a transformative project that is equalising access to excellent medical treatment for all.”

The 1990 Suwa Seriya Foundation’s Adopt an Ambulance project currently plays a vital role in the country’s healthcare sector, delivering medical assistance and aid throughout the country. Having significantly impacted rural and underserved communities across the nation, the service’s fleet of ambulances reinforces local healthcare infrastructure with a reliable means of providing communities with lifechanging health facilities in emergencies.
