Lanka IOC PLC announced its title sponsorship of the much-anticipated Test and ODI series between Australia and Sri Lanka that commenced on January 29, at the iconic Galle International Stadium.
The sponsorship, through Lanka IOC’s flagship brand Servo Lubricants, reinforces the company’s unwavering commitment to powering engines and energizing the sporting aspirations of Sri Lanka.
The press conference, held at the Galle International Stadium, was graced by Dipak Das, Managing Director of Lanka IOC, Sri Lanka Captain Dhananjaya De Silva, Australian Captain Steve Smith, and officials from Sri Lanka Cricket.
Servo Lubricants has been synonymous with cricket in Sri Lanka since 2015, playing a pivotal role in nurturing young talent. The journey began with Servo sponsoring the Sri Lanka ‘A’ team for three consecutive years, marking the start of a fruitful partnership with the sport.
In 2017, Servo strengthened its connection with cricket enthusiasts through on-ground promotions during the India tour of Sri Lanka. The brand achieved a milestone in 2018 by supporting the Nidahas Trophy, a tri-nation series involving Sri Lanka, India, and Bangladesh.
Servo further solidified its association with the sport by sponsoring the Sri Lanka vs. South Africa Test and ODI series and hosting promotions during the Sri Lanka vs. England ODI, T20, and Test series. Servo’s association with cricket transcends sponsorship. It is a celebration of passion, talent, and the sport’s growth in Sri Lanka.
Lanka IOC’s collaboration with Muttiah Muralidaran in 2015 and Ajantha Mendis in 2018 as brand ambassadors further elevated Servo’s standing in the cricketing community. Speaking at the event, Dipak Das emphasized the shared values of cricket and Servo: “Cricket, much like Servo, demands consistency, precision, and endurance. These qualities define the spirit of Servo Lubricants and resonate with the ethos of Lanka IOC. Whether it’s powering engines or empowering dreams, we remain committed to driving progress, on and off the field.”
He added, “As we sponsor the Australia Tour of Sri Lanka, we are reminded of the deep connection we share with cricket fans across the nation. It is your passion and support that fuel our efforts to contribute meaningfully to this sport.”
Das extended his gratitude to Sri Lanka Cricket for their trust and partnership, stating, “Together, we are not just supporting cricket; we are nurturing dreams and creating memories that will last a lifetime. Let me reiterate Lanka IOC’s and Servo’s commitment to empowering Sri Lanka through sports, innovation, and community engagement. Together, let us fuel ambitions, energize dreams, and take cricket to greater heights.”
The Australian tour of Sri Lanka will feature two Test matches as part of the ICC World Test Championship cycle for 2023-25. The matches will be held from January 29 to February 2 and February 6 to 10 at the Galle International Stadium. Additionally, two One Day Internationals (ODIs) will take place on February 12 and 14 at the R. Premadasa Stadium, Colombo. With this partnership, Lanka IOC and Servo Lubricants continue to solidify their legacy of fueling Sri Lanka’s sporting spirit, celebrating excellence, and creating unforgettable moments for cricket fans across the nation.
