Sanasa Life registration reinstated by insurance regulator after seven-month suspension

Insurance Regulatory Commission of Sri Lanka (IRCSL) has removed the suspension imposed on the registration of Sanasa Life Insurance Company PLC effective 6 July 2026, subject to the company fulfilling certain conditions.

In a disclosure to the Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE), the insurer said the regulator communicated its decision through a letter dated 6 July, ending a suspension that had been the subject of a series of market announcements since December 2025.

The company referred to previous disclosures made on December 9, December 12 and December 26, 2025, as well as February 3, March 6 and May 7, 2026, regarding the suspension of its registration.

Sanasa Life did not disclose the specific conditions attached to the lifting of the suspension.

The removal of the suspension allows the insurer to resume operations under the oversight of the regulator, although compliance with the stipulated conditions will remain a requirement.
