Sala Enterprises, the Sri Lankan company behind the recently launched E Mark AI Mouse, the nation’s first AI-powered hardware device, plans to expand its market reach by exporting the innovative product to South and Southeast Asian countries.

The E Mark AI Mouse, designed to enhance productivity and creativity, boasts a range of advanced features tailored to modern users. At a press briefing in Colombo yesterday, Sala Enterprises Managing Director Chinthaka Wijewickrama announced that the company has already secured initial export orders from several countries in the region.

“We are actively pursuing export opportunities, having received inquiries from Pakistan, Nepal, Singapore, Malaysia, and other nations. We see significant revenue potential in these markets,” Wijewickrama stated.

Initially, Sala Enterprises aims to fulfill orders of 100 to 200 units per country, with plans to scale up to 1,000 units once consumer adaption increases.

“The initial orders are for trial purposes, allowing consumers to experience the device firsthand. We are confident that positive user feedback will drive larger orders,” he explained.

Wijewickrama highlighted the development challenges, particularly in integrating comprehensive language capabilities.

“Developing this product, especially with its support for over 100 languages, was a lengthy process. However, we now have a robust product, and we are continually exploring further enhancements. Importantly, backend updates will be seamlessly pushed to the platform without any additional cost to the customer,” he emphasised.

The E Mark AI Mouse features voice typing, multilingual translation supporting over 100 languages including Sinhala and Tamil, simplified presentation and worksheet creation, unrestricted image design, and Optical Character Recognition (OCR) for text extraction. It prioritises data security through local storage and offers AI-powered customisation. With Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, and 4000 DPI sensitivity, it delivers high performance without monthly subscription fees, positioning it as a cost-effective and advanced input solution.
