Pussalla crowned Gold at CNCI awards 2025

In a resounding affirmation of Sri Lankan industrial excellence, Pussalla Meat Producers (Pvt) Ltd has been honoured with the National Gold Award in the Extra-Large Manufacturing Category and recognized among the Top Ten Extra-Large Companies at the CNCI Achiever Awards 2025, organized by the Ceylon National Chamber of Industries (CNCI). 

This recognition marks another significant milestone in Pussalla’s journey from a pioneering poultry producer to one of the nation’s most advanced and successful agribusinesses.

As the only fully vertically integrated Poultry Company in Sri Lanka, managing operations from grandparent farms to consumer retail, Pussalla embodies a long-term vision of self-sufficiency, uncompromised food safety, and sustainable growth. 

Its operations span grandparent and breeder farms, hatcheries, feed mills, maize drying plants, broiler farms, processing and further-processing facilities, and 130 company-owned retail outlets nationwide. The model allows Pussalla to minimize dependency on external suppliers, strengthen biosecurity and animal welfare, and maintain consistent quality across its island-wide operations.

Pussalla’s grandparent farm, a collaboration with the world’s largest genetics poultry breeding company, Aviagen, has given exclusive production & distribution rights in Sri Lanka and Pussalla supplies 70 percent of the country’s poultry broiler breeder chick requirement, thus supporting to the national economy by reducing foreign exchange spent on imports.

As the only company in the country that manages its entire supply chain exclusively through its own modern farms, Pussalla guarantees that every chicken is completely free from antibiotics, heavy metals, pesticide residues, growth promoters, and hormones. This assurance is made possible through total in-house control from breeding and rearing to processing and distribution ensuring complete transparency and accountability.

For over decades, this comprehensive in-house quality assurance system has stood as a benchmark of safety, trust, and integrity in the poultry industry. With a deep understanding of what is produced and how birds are nurtured, the company delivers food that is consistently safe, wholesome, and nutritious.

All production systems undergoe rigorous testing against critical quality and safety parameters at nationally and internationally accredited laboratories. The company proudly operates its own ISO 17025:2017 certified microbiology laboratory the first and only of its kind in Sri Lanka’s poultry industry to achieve this prestigious certification from Sri Lanka Accreditation Board under the accreditation of International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (ILAC).
