People’s Bank celebrates International Women’s Day

People’s Bank marked the International Women’s Day with a special event on March 8, at the Mahinda Rajapaksa Auditorium in Polgolla, Kandy.  The event was held under the patronage of Chairman Prof. Narada Fernando and Chief Executive Officer/General Manager Clive Fonseka.

The keynote speech of the event was delivered by Peradeniya University Sociology Department Senior Lecture Dr. P.K. Seelagama, while Polgolla Mahaweli National College of Education President Major Kanthi Liyanage also addressed the audience. 

During the event, the audience was introduced to the Vanitha Vasana High Interest Account and Vanitha Vasana Money Planner investment plans. Further, Vanitha Saviya business loans for women and a People’s Bank Auto Loan were granted to selected customers. 

Additionally, further expanding the product offerings under Vanitha Vasana brand, a Vanitha Vasana credit card was launched during the event.

People’s Bank Deputy General Manager Enterprise Banking Wickrama Narayana, Deputy General Manager Payment, Process Management and Quality Assurance Nilmini Premalal, Deputy General Manager Retail Banking T.M.W. Chandrakumara, Head of Marketing Nalaka Wijayawardana, Deputy General Manager Channel Management Naleen Pathiranage, together with the executive management, bank officials as well as female entrepreneurs, professionals and customers participated in the event. In parallel to this, People’s Bank carried out the International Women’s Day events in branches across the island.
