NDB Bank partners APB’s 35th Anniversary Convention

NDB Bank partnered with the Association of Professional Bankers (APB) Sri Lanka for its 35th Anniversary Convention, held recently at Cinnamon Life – Waterfront in Colombo.

Organised under the theme ‘Revitalising Sri Lanka’s Economy and the Role of Banking in Sustainable Recovery and Growth’, this milestone event brought together over 300 leading banking professionals, including CEOs and senior management, to chart a collaborative path for Sri Lanka’s economic revival.

Established in 1988, the APB stands as the premier professional body representing over 2,500 banking professionals across the industry, consistently working to enhance knowledge, foster innovation and develop leadership in the financial sector. Over the past 35 years, the APB Annual Convention has become the most anticipated forum for industry dialogue, knowledge-sharing and professional development. This year’s convention was graced by the presence of the Central Bank governor, highlighting its national significance.

This partnership with the APB resonates strongly with NDB’s mission to drive sustainable growth and empower individuals and businesses. In addition to supporting the event as a strategic partner, NDB Bank’s Director/CEO participated in a panel discussion featuring prominent thought leaders from the financial industry. The panel explored practical strategies and policy frameworks for guiding Sri Lanka’s economy toward long-term resilience. Discussions ranged from innovative digital banking solutions to risk management approaches that balance growth with sustainability.

This collaboration underscores NDB’s commitment to contributing to the transformation of Sri Lanka’s economic landscape as well as reaffirming the bank’s dedication to nurturing talent and leadership within the banking community.
