INSEE recognised at 13th Annual Green Building Awards

INSEE Cement, a leader in sustainable building materials, has once again demonstrated its unwavering commitment to environmental stewardship and innovation at the 13th Annual Green Building Awards Ceremony 2024, organised by the Green Building Council of Sri Lanka. 

INSEE Cement was recognised with a prestigious award for its exceptional contributions to sustainability, innovation and environmental stewardship in the construction industry.

These accolades not only reflect the hard work, commitment and passion of every member of the INSEE team but also underscore the company’s dedication to shaping a greener future for Sri Lanka and beyond.

A major milestone for INSEE Cement was the recertification of its flagship product, INSEE Sanstha, Portland Composite Cement, as a Green Labeled Product by the Green Building Council of Sri Lanka. For the first time, this product earned an outstanding five-star rating, making INSEE the first cement company in the industry to achieve this prestigious recognition. This achievement was made possible by its existing Environmental Product Declarations (EPD) certification, which aligns with the ISO 14025 standard. The EPD is a globally recognised framework that provides detailed, standardised and third party-verified information into the environmental performance of products throughout their lifecycle. INSEE CEO/Chairman Nandana Ekanayaka stated, “We are proud to be the first cement company in Sri Lanka to receive the Five-Star Green Label Certification for INSEE Sanstha, Portland Composite Cement product specially developed for highly durable concrete and other construction applications. This recognition is a testament to our team’s tireless dedication to creating eco-friendly, sustainable solutions for the construction industry.
