The Institute of Environmental Professionals Sri Lanka (IEPSL) is gearing up for its much-anticipated Annual Technical Sessions under the theme ‘Empowering Environmental Professionals for a Sustainable Future’.
The event focuses on the importance of equipping environmental professionals with the knowledge, skills and ethical standards required to advance sustainable development initiatives.
The launch event was addressed by International Water Management Institute Director General Dr. Mark Smith, who will deliver the keynote address as the chief guest. Dr. Smith’s presentation titled ‘Innovative Solutions for a Greener Future: Leveraging the Power of Water’ will offer valuable insights into water management and sustainable practices.
The sessions will also feature a high-profile panel discussion on ‘Leveraging Technology and Innovation in Sustainable Development’, alongside invited presentations highlighting industry best practices under the theme ‘Harmonising Nature and Development’.
In addition, the IEPSL is reinforcing its commitment to national environmental initiatives by collaborating with the Clean Sri Lanka initiative. A dedicated panel discussion will explore the potential contributions of the IEPSL to this national project.
Furthermore, the event will mark the official endorsement of the partnership between the IEPSL and Clean Sri Lanka, further strengthening collaborative efforts for environmental dialogue across the nation.
Over the past year, the IEPSL conducted over 10 training programmes, reaching more than 900 participants from both the public and private sectors. These programmes, which include five intensive five-day residential courses, have contributed significantly to improving the professionalism and competency of environmental practitioners in Sri Lanka.
Eco Convergence 2025 is expected to draw a diverse audience, including government officials, corporate leaders, academics and young professionals passionate about environmental conservation. The event will serve as a prime platform for networking, exchanging ideas and forging partnerships to drive impactful environmental solutions.
