Great Place To Work Sri Lanka concluded its much anticipated ‘Become a Great People Manager’ workshop at Mandarina Colombo, with over 35 enthusiastic participants in attendance.
The session was led by Maithily Bhupatkar, a leadership development expert and the Head of Content & Facilitation at Great Manager Institute, India.
With a wealth of experience in people management and diversity, equity, and inclusion practices, Maithily shared invaluable insights and practical strategies to foster a culture of high trust and performance in teams.
The workshop focused on several key areas of leadership development, including the Connect-Develop-Inspire framework, a powerful tool designed to help managers understand their role in nurturing growth within their teams. Participants were introduced to diverse people management styles and learned how to design effective people practices to elevate team dynamics and performance.
Key topics covered during the workshop provided participants with a comprehensive understanding of effective leadership and people management. These included “Leadership Development from Intent to Impact,” which focused on aligning leadership goals with tangible outcomes, and the Connect-Develop-Inspire framework, designed to help managers foster growth and engagement within their teams. The session also explored various “People Management Styles,” helping leaders identify the most effective approach for their teams, as well as “Designing Effective People Practices” to create supportive and productive environments. Additionally, best practices in people management were shared, offering practical insights into building high-performing, cohesive teams.
Targeting leaders at all managerial levels, including C-level executives, senior managers, HR professionals, and thought leaders, the session offered a comprehensive approach to enhancing managerial effectiveness and team performance.
The workshop’s main takeaway for participants was how to bridge the “knowing-doing” gap by creating personalized action plans that ensure insights are translated into long-term, meaningful impact. Managers walked away with practical tools to improve retention, drive productivity, and foster stronger team dynamics.
