David Pieris Solar and DFCC Bank join forces to finance customers

David Pieris Renewable Energy (DPRE) has partnered with DFCC Bank to make solar energy more affordable and accessible for customers in Sri Lanka. 

The collaboration, formalized through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), focuses on providing attractive financing options for solar energy systems and Calpak hot water systems.

The MoU was signed by Jayantha Ratnayake, Chairman & Managing Director, DPRE; Samantha Silva, Director; Geeth Samaranayake, Chief Operating Officer; and Lahiru Vitharana, Deputy General Manager representing DPRE.

From DFCC Bank, the signatories included Shamindra Marcelline, Deputy Chief Executive Officer; Aasiri  Iddamalgoda, Senior Vice President (Retail Banking & SME);  Asanka Patabadige, Assistant Vice President (Consumer Assets, Retail Banking); and Thusitha Subramaniam, Assistant Manager, Personal Loans.

Under this agreement, DFCC Bank will offer personalized loan packages tailored to the eligibility criteria of individual customers. Meanwhile, DPRE will provide solar solutions with exclusive offers to DFCC customers. 

As part of this collaboration, customers can avail themselves of loans with low fixed interest rates and a 5-year repayment period, further enhancing the affordability of solar energy systems for homes and businesses. 

This partnership marks a significant step toward enabling more Sri Lankans to adopt green energy solutions without the burden of high upfront costs.

Speaking about the collaboration, Prasanna Dissanayake, Divisional Manager of Solar Sales & Marketing, DPRE, highlighted the customer-centric nature of the partnership. “This collaboration will enable us to offer solar energy solutions to a wider audience by providing affordable financing options, with no upfront cost for qualifying customers. 

This partnership is a significant step towards accelerating the adoption of green energy in Sri Lanka, contributing to the country’s environmental and economic goals.”
