Chinese Dragon Café marks 1st anniversary in Dubai

Chinese Dragon Café (CDC), Sri Lanka’s oldest Chinese restaurant chain, commemorates the first anniversary of its Dubai outlet.

Since its founding in 1942, CDC has perfected the art of blending the bold, vibrant spices of Sri Lanka with the intricate techniques of Chinese cuisine, creating dishes that evoke both nostalgia and delight.The launch of CDC’s first international outlet in Al Karama, Dubai, in October 2023 marked a groundbreaking moment, not just for the brand but also for Sri Lankan culinary representation globally. It stands as the first Sri Lankan Chinese restaurant to expand internationally, showcasing a rich legacy of flavors to a diverse audience.

Often described as the culinary equivalent of popcorn, this dish features tender pieces of cuttlefish coated in a light, crispy batter, fried to golden perfection, and tossed in a buttery, chili-infused sauce. The result is a dish that’s impossible to resist, each bite is a burst of flavor, combining crunch, heat, and umami. It perfectly encapsulates CDC’s ability to fuse tradition with indulgence.Other menu highlights, such as Nasi Goreng, Seafood Fried Rice, and Tom Yum Goong, have also gained popularity, with many customers describing the flavors as a comforting reminder of Sri Lanka.
