CA SL celebrates contributions of over 60 veteran members

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (CA Sri Lanka) recognised the outstanding contributions of over 60 veteran members at a special felicitation ceremony recently. 

The event, which was part of the institute’s 65th anniversary celebrations, honoured the remarkable service, dedication and commitment of senior Chartered Accountants, whose contributions have played a pivotal role in the advancement of the accounting profession in the country since CA Sri Lanka was established in 1959. 

During the ceremony, Sri Lanka President Heshana Kuruppu presented special mementos to the veteran members in the presence of Vice President Tishan Subasinghe, CEO Lakmali Priyangika and other distinguished

participants, as a token of appreciation for their remarkable contributions to the profession.  

Speaking at the event, Kuruppu emphasised the importance of recognising and appreciating the trailblasers of the profession.

“These veteran members have laid the groundwork for what the accounting profession in Sri Lanka stands for today. Their dedication and service will continue to serve as a beacon of inspiration for the future generations of accountants.” 

To underscore the institute’s deep gratitude and respect for the foundational role these professionals have played in shaping Sri Lanka’s accounting landscape, the members honoured comprised those who obtained their CA Sri Lanka membership on or before 1984, excluding past presidents and recipients of the CA Sri Lanka Hall of Fame and Lifetime Achievement Awards. Past presidents are honoured by unveiling their portraits at the Institute, while since 2010, CA Sri Lanka has also been celebrating select members through the Lifetime Achievement Award and since 2011, through the Hall of Fame.
