Arpico Insurance PLC recently announced the appointment of Rohan Muttiah to its Board of Directors.
Muttiah brings a wealth of expertise from Banking, Technology, Cybersecurity, Airlines, Energy, Financial Services, and Hospitality and his career is marked by senior leadership roles, including Chief Operating Officer at NDB Bank and Cargills Bank, and Chief Information Officer at Commercial Bank of Ceylon, and John Keells Holdings.
Currently, the Board of Arpico Insurance PLCcomprises of Messrs. Ramal Jasinghe (Chairman), Dr. Kelum Senanayake (Executive Director/CEO), Shiron Gooneratne, Yudy Kanagasabai and Rohan Muttiah.

Muttiah’s career highlights include pioneering Sri Lanka’s first Banking Payment Hub, spearheading the adoption of Ripple Blockchain, and driving exponential growth in Mobile Banking. He was also instrumental in the digitization of banking processes, contributing to an organisation award from Google.
Beyond his corporate accomplishments, Muttiah has held significant positions in public service, including Chairman (Non-Executive) of Lanka Communication Services, Chairman of the Sri Lanka Computer Emergency Readiness Team, and Chairman of the Blockchain Working Committee at the Central Bank of Sri Lanka. He has also represented Sri Lanka at the Council of Europe’s Budapest Convention on Cyber Crime in Strasbourg, France and played a key role in developing Sri Lanka’s Baseline Security Standardfor banking.
Muttiah is an alumnus of Monash University, Melbourne, Australia, and his career includes senior corporate roles both in Sri Lanka and Australia.
