ACCA Sri Lanka celebrates top achievers at Annual Awards Ceremony

The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) Sri Lanka hosted its Annual Prize Winners Award Ceremony on  August 26, bringing together students, members, parents, employers, Approved Learning Partners (ALPs), universities, and leading professional bodies to celebrate academic excellence and recognize Sri Lanka’s brightest future finance professionals.

The ceremony was graced by Professor Manjula Vidanapathirana, Director General of the National Institute of Education (NIE), as the Chief Guest, and Orlando Edwards, Director of the British Council Sri Lanka, as the Guest of Honour. 

Their participation highlighted the importance of collaboration between academia and professional education, in shaping talent for Sri Lanka’s finance sector. Professor Manjula Vithanapathirana congratulating this year’s ACCA prize winners, noted that their achievements reflect not only hard work and talent but also a strong commitment to excellence. 

She emphasized that this milestone extends beyond personal success, highlighting their readiness to lead with integrity and contribute to a profession grounded in ethics and sustainability. She further conveyed her warmest congratulations to the winners, their families, tutors, and ACCA Sri Lanka for nurturing globally competitive, future-ready professionals.

A total of 105 new Affiliates were formally recognized, alongside 45 Sri Lanka Prize Winners and 1 Global Prize Winner, whose exceptional performances in ACCA examinations underscored the high calibre and dedication of Sri Lankan students on the international stage.

The event also featured presentations on the ACCA Qualification Re-Design, providing valuable insights into upcoming enhancements aimed at future-proofing the qualification and equipping students with the skills demanded by an evolving global finance landscape.
