8th Great HR Quiz set to take place tomorrow



The Chartered Institute of Personnel Management (CIPM) Sri Lanka announced the 8th Great HR Quiz, set to take place on 29 January at Monarch Imperial, Sri Jayewardenepura, from 2:30 p.m. onwards.

Conceptualized by Rohitha Amarapala, a former president of CIPM, the Great HR Quiz debuted in 2014 and has since become a flagship event in Sri Lanka’s HR fraternity. This year’s edition is expected to be bigger and better, featuring participation from 75 leading organizations.

CIPM President Priyantha Ranasinghe highlighted the objectives of the event, emphasizing its role in enhancing knowledge, skills, and practices in human resource management. “The Great HR Quiz is more than a competition; it’s an opportunity for participants to apply theoretical knowledge in practical scenarios,” said Ranasinghe. “The event fosters awareness of contemporary socio-political issues, sports, and emerging industry trends while encouraging HR professionals to stay current and informed.”

Project Chairman of the 8th CIPM Great HR Quiz Priyankara Seneviratne said,“I am thrilled to witness the enthusiasm and commitment from Sri Lanka’s HR fraternity. It is a privilege to spearhead this flagship initiative that empowers organizations and individuals to stay ahead in an ever-evolving HR landscape.”

C. Hewapattini, this year’s Quiz Master, described the event as more than just a competition. “The Great HR Quiz is a developmental opportunity for entire organizations. With engaging questions on HR practices, organizational development, current affairs, and emerging trends, it provides a unique blend of learning and professional growth. Participants also get to network with like-minded professionals and enjoy a dynamic, interactive experience,” he stated.

All team slots were sold out well in advance, reflecting the growing significance and popularity of this flagship event.”

This year’s theme, “HR Rumble” promises an intellectually stimulating competition. Participating organizations can nominate up to two teams, with each team comprising four members. Both private and public sector organizations are encouraged to register early, as the event typically reaches full capacity well before the closing date.
