This man lost every opportunity he had. Now he is trying this last one to get back some position of power. Shameless.

Will further distruct UNP with people without a vision

Should have been done long ago! No point in running a party just to satisfy one's ego.

    Was there anything to dissolve?

I am not against the government dont get me wrong they are doing a lot of good things. But the opposition of the country should also be good to balance things out. to Stop people like Wimal and Mervin doing there own thing.

UNP seniors will oppose you getting a official post...
in other words you will be a " nobody" within the UNP...
Consider doing another "Pole Vault " in the future...

Is this Ranil's smart move to neutralize Sajit?

    Geronimo Thursday, 05 August 2010 02:03 AM

Mangala has done the right thing by joining the UNP outright. Alone with his SLFP (M) he could never have been able to have an impact. Whatever Mangala was and whatever he did in the past, his is a strong voice and will be good for the flagging opposition.

Is CKB going to be UNP national organizer?

    menaka Thursday, 05 August 2010 02:32 AM

it would have been a breeze to dissolve a party where only a handful of people were there :)

    I Hussein Thursday, 05 August 2010 10:38 AM

If a UNP member joined the govt its Ranil's fault, now someone is joining UNP, yet again Ranil's been blamed.

    harris Thursday, 05 August 2010 03:31 AM

Another move by Ranil to put down the call to his step down ? Earlier it was Karu Jayasuriya now Mangala ? Let's wait and see what Ranil does.

Tamils are fortunate to have you,a real rationalist in sinhala politics, hence a nationalist even joining UNP you will not change your rational political philosophy.

He joined UNP long time ago.....it is not a big revolution in politics.....he has no alternative other than joining UNP....

This is the only way Mr. Samaraweera could survive. If not he will be on logs.
