Thilini’s employees summoned to CID

Several employees of Thico Group (Pvt) Ltd including its Media Specialists and Directors have been summoned to the CID to record statements in support to the investigations into the financial misappropriation at the Thico group.

Accordingly, Thico Group Media Specialist and popular TV presenter Surangi Kodithuwakku and Dhananjaya Nanayakkara were present at the CID today.

Speaking to the media, they said that there is no credibility behind the news that they have been terminated from their jobs. "But the Thico office is still functioning at the 34th floor of the WTC," Kodithuwakku said.

They said the Chairperson has assigned the tasks to the Board of Directors for the future operation of the group.

Meanwhile, prisons spokesman Chandana Ekanayake said Thilini Priyamali, owner of Thico Group (Pvt) Ltd, is to broduced before the Prison Tribunal over the possession of a mobile phone inside the cell where she was detained.

He said the department has given her solitary confinement so that she is not influenced by others.

The spokesman said special security arrangements have been made and the authorities are conducting search in her cell daily. "Not only that cell, but other cells are also being searched. It is our responsibility to prevent her from doing anything illegal," he said.(Darshana Sanjeewa Balasuriya)
