Forex used to import Ethanol to mix with petrol but no Forex to import the medicines necessary. Readers can decide what must have priority

Most European cars and other cars of better origin are compatible with E10 and e20. Cheaper and Environmental friendly too! But try saying that to our local 'people' - another protest in the making!

When returned to Sri Lanka in 1981, after completing the research on USE OF ETHONAL AS FUEL FOR INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE I was requested by then Chairman the Most respected Late Mr Earl Jayasekara to make a presentation to the Institution of Engineers ,Sri Lanka . They obliged and the panel consists of senior member of IESL of Engineers. This was in 1981. After my presentation to the panel they were not keen to bring to the public the potential of the project but discouraged, sarcastic in the comments . Their comments were' When we could get petroleum from Arab Countries ,and in the future of many years why should venture on this project .Only thing is they want the copy of my Research done overseas . I said no and walk out of the meeting. So 1981 we were keen to promote ,and now we in 2023 , 43 years has passed, and now government is trying this idea . How the this country is utilizing its expertise .This way the country will not progress Request Daily Mirror to publish this.

Ethonol mix only works in some models of older car only Friday, 13 January 2023 12:49 PM

Watering down petrol. Ethanol mixed fuel is bad in the long run for engines. The price per kilometer might be lower, but the total kilometers that can be done on full tank is also lower. In the West it is only some older cars which use ethanol mix, all the newer ones use higher octane super type only. A lot of older model car drivers use ethanol and ruin their engine 100,000 km earlier by using ethanol mix.

it is said that adding ethanol to petrol does not have any effect in the current vehicle. Since ethanol contains oxygen, it helps in more complete combustion of the fuel, reduces emissions and makes it a much better fuel for the environment
