The number of COVID cases is on the rise these days, and the current batch of Pfizer vaccines will soon expire, the Colombo Regional Epidemiologist said.

Therefore, she requested people who are over 20 years old and their elderly relatives to get the jabs against COVID-19 virus from the Colombo Muncipal Council (CMC) Vaccination Centres tomorrow.

She said people who are eligible to get the vaccine should be over 20 years of age and should have completed three months since their last COVID jab.

The people were requested to visit the MOH Office at Ginthupitiya, MCH and MOH office at Deans Road, New Bazaar Maternity Home, MOH office at Wellawatte, Campbell Park and MOH Office at Kirula Road between 9:09 am and 1:00 pm to get their first, second, third and fourth doses of Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine.

However, the health ministry said the fourth dose was recommended for people between 20 and 60 years of age and for those with immunodeficiency and chronic disorders. (Chaturanga Samarawickrama)
