SJB MP Nalin Bandara Jayamaha today confirmed that some members from the SJB will cross over to the government after the New Year.

He said this when asked about possible crossovers from SJB to the government after the New Year. “We cannot deny crossovers. A few members from SJB will cross over,” he said in this regard.

Referring to SJB MP Rajitha Senaratne who was in praise of incumbent President Wickremesinghe , the MP said the former always had the intention of crossing over and accepting a ministry.

“Raijitha always had the idea of supporting President Wickremesinghe. Also crossing over is no big deal for him as he had done so several times in the past,” he said. (Yohan Perera)

Sajith is the most hardworking MP, but not a leader, as much as was Gotabaya,Ranil and Namal both have the same strong inborn character of leadership. For the moment I can't think of anyone else.

Don't worry, this is a common happening in Sri Lanka politics, these politicians cannot be with power and wealth that comes with ministerial postings

Not few expect gradual abondaning of SJB by most MPs. As long as Sajith is the leader this will happen in next few months.

    Ranjith Monday, 10 April 2023 10:05 PM

Nothing new it happened to SLFP, and UNP as well under Ranil's leadership but SJB will survive and will win the elections

    Ranjith Monday, 10 April 2023 03:05 PM

In Sri Lanka politics is a business...No one does politics to serve the public...with JR ; PR and Sirima all this feeling of public service are gone ..now there is no party politics or loyalty to any party.. rather all goes with wining party or with the president in order to make money

Ranil will be nowhere and face severe defeat in a presidential election if Rajitha joined Ranil's SLPP government and if ministry offered to Rajitha, country will face unprecedented Economic Crises once again, that cannot be revived any more.

Crossover is permitted by our defunct constitution. AAmend the constitution to bar crossovers . At this critical economic bankruptcy, crossovers will strengthen the incumbent president. However, parliamentarians could extend their support without crossovers. Proposers of Grand alliance should spell out their strategies to overcome the present economic bankruptcy to economic revival.

Once the cream of SJB crossover, maybe Sajith can get Dr. Mervyn Silva as his economic advisor.

Good let the major parties self-distruct. This will open a clear path for the only political party that is genuinely trying to rescue the country from these dirty politicians , the JVP.

Cross overs are immaterial as voters don’t. If an election is held, cross overs will get wiped out like Lakshman Yapa, etc.
